St. Cloud, Minn. — March 24, 2008 — Anderson Trucking Service, Inc. (ATS) is pleased to congratulate driver Steve French who has been named the 3rd Place in the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) 2007 Driver of the Year Contest for Company drivers.
The contest is sponsored by Truckload Carriers Association, Detroit Diesel and Trucker News.
The announcement was made at the TCA Annual Convention, at the Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. “We were very pleased to have Steve chosen to represent ATS and the Truckload Carrier Industry as a whole. Steve and his wife Nancy are an exemplary representatives of the best of the best in truck driving”. Stated Rollie Anderson, CEO and President of ATS.
“Steve French has been a driver for ATS since 1995, and has logged over 1.2 million accident free miles. Steve is authorized to haul loads up to 12’ wide, 14’ 3” high and 85’ long, which make his safety record even more impressive”. Stated Scott Anderson, ATS Director of Safety.
Steve French was added to the ATS Million Mile Club in 2005.
Steve is also a member of “Highway Watch” a National Safety and Security program that uses the skills, experience and “road smarts” of America’s highway workers to help protect the nations critical infrastructure and the transportation of goods, services and people. Steve takes great pride in stopping to help motorists along his way. “I am the guy you call in a pinch… the one you turn to when you need help” says French.
Steve and his wife Nancy travel the roadways as a team from coast-to-coast and up along the Alcan Highway back and fourth to Alaska and throughout North America.
On one of his most memorable trips Steve went to Nova Scotia and after safely delivering his load, took time to take a dip in the Artic Ocean and join the Artic Ocean Polar Bears Club.
“Steve has always been a leader to the other drivers in our company. One example of this is hauling loads to Alaska. Steve has driven the Alcan Highway many times. Because of this he frequently runs with other, less experienced drivers when there are loads going to Alaska. Steve is helpful to them, pointing out possible safety issues and what can be done to prevent problems”, added Rollie.
