Ruan Driver Receives Million Mile Safety Award
DES MOINES, Iowa – Ruan Transport Corporation recently honored Jimmie Harris of Geneva, Illinois, who received the Ruan Million Mile Safety Award. This remarkable achievement recognizes his one million miles of accident-free driving for Ruan.
Tom Netcher, Harris’s terminal manager, selected him to receive this prestigious award. “Professional drivers know that completing one million miles is one of the most elusive achievements on the highway. We are blessed to have a skilled professional like Jimmie working for Ruan. I would like to thank him for his commitment to Ruan and to America’s highways.”
Harris attributes his success to Ruan’s dedication in working with their drivers to solve problems as well as Ruan’s good equipment and fuel system. He also acknowledges it is crucial “to be aware of what is going on around you and be considerate to other drivers.” Harris has also been the recipient of annual safety awards during his employment with Ruan.
Harris was presented with a plaque to honor his recognition as a million mile safe driver on April 12, 2008.
