Tulsa, Ok - November 6, 2008 - John Christner, Founder and President of John Christner Trucking, was honored recently at the first annual Big Rig Expo with a Lifetime Achievement Award.  Mr. Christner was selected from 50 candidates nationwide for his many accomplishments in the trucking industry, as well as for his many years of community involvement and service. A committee organized by the directors of the Big Rig Expo selected Mr. Christner, a 22-year veteran of the industry.

John Christner began his career in trucking as a long-haul driver. This experience would help him develop an understanding of the industry from the ground up, and would initiate a deeply satisfying and rewarding relationship with the world of transportation. Over the years Mr. Christner's role in the trucking industry evolved from driving to operations to management with Tom Inman Trucking.

In 1986, with only two trucks, Mr. Christner launched what is now considered one of the premiere temperature controlled carriers in the U.S. Today, John Christner Trucking, LLC is proud to have a fleet of over 740 trucks. Throughout the time of this growth, Mr. Christner's good will and passion for both the industry and his employees has radiated throughout the company, and is reflected by the loyalty and respect his employees and drivers have for him. Even as the company has grown, Mr. Christner's core values have remained vital and strong. To quote Mr. Christner: "We're just making a small living for a big family."

Mr. Christner is deeply involved in the communities of Tulsa and Sapulpa and actively supports numerous local charities and events, including The United Way and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In addition, this year he served as Honorary Chairman of the American Diabetes Association. He is also an active member of the Hamsters, a private motorcycle club that selects its members based on their community involvement.
