THOMASVILLE, N.C. (June 17, 2009) – Event Marketer magazine recognized Old Dominion Freight Line’s 75th Anniversary Tour as a Gold Winner in the category of Best Mobile Marketing Program (B-to-B) during the 2009 Ex Awards gala in Chicago.
The 75th Anniversary Tour consists of a cross-country 25-city road tour, featuring a customized truck filled with interactive displays outlining the company’s history. At each stop, customers, employees and guests walk through the displays and enjoy food, games and other activities. The tour began at Old Dominion’s Miami Service Center November 16, 2008. The first year of the tour will be completed September 22, 2009, at the Service Center in Columbus, Ohio. Information about tour stop locations and activities can be found at OD75.com.
“The tour has helped us to share and celebrate our rich history with our employees and customers. They are an important part of our history and our future,” said Chip Overbey, Vice President of National Accounts and Marketing for Old Dominion Freight Line.
Award winners are selected by brand-side marketers. All winners will be profiled in Event Marketer’s annual “best of the best” super-issue in June.
