LOMBARD, Ill. -The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) announced that Penske Logistics will sponsor its 21st Annual "State of Logistics Report®" that will be released on June 9 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

CSCMP's Annual "State of Logistics Report®"contains the complete portrait of industry statistics, their impact, recommendations, and an insightful future perspective on the logistics and supply chain professions.  The report has tracked and measured all costs associated with moving goods through the U.S. supply chain since 1988.  It benchmarks key metrics in U.S. logistics such as transportation and inventory-carrying costs, freight volumes, and revenues, giving practitioners a big-picture view of the performance of the U.S. supply chain process.

This year's event will feature a panel of senior supply chain executives from leading companies who will discuss the implications of the report's findings on their companies and the industry, as well as the changes they will be implementing because of them.  Key findings from this year's report will include a decline in business inventories throughout 2009 and potential motor carrier capacity constraints in 2010 as the economy continues to recover.
